Happy Year of the Ox!
This is a brand new year – since I’m chinese, I’m going to say that my year starts this Monday. Last year I hit so many highs and so many lows but hopefully it’ll all be about moving forward and going the distance!
These past couple weeks/days/nights have been absolutely amazing. My dad was in town and we got to spend so much time together and bond again despite our remote distance from each other. Not only was it great, he helped me focus on a renewal from inside out. He’s been a vegetarian for many years now and so I’ve been slowly cutting meat out of my diet or at least red meat and more inclined to eat sea kittens (PETA joke, get it?).
He’s been encouraging me to renew my spirit as well and remind myself that everything that has happened to me has been God willing. Not just my willing. I admit my self-absorbedness can get the best of me so I do need a good kick in the butt!
Other than that, I had a fab time with my girls last nite flying in from Hong Kong and Beijing! More Chinese New Year festitivies for the rest of the week. I can’t wait to drop the mandarin oranges down the Klang Valley River in Chap Goh Mei! I was told of this story that you write all your problems, wishes and hopes on a mandarin orange and let it float in the river. What a sweet folklore! I’m going to write down names of my potential future husbands and hope that all my dreams come true! (I hope Daniel Henney is just one step closer to my future! hahhaa)
