I didn’t exactly document my trip to Langkawi excessively as I normally would for other holidays. So I’m only sticking a couple pictures up. I went to Langkawi to lepak for a few days with my closest friends – Wong, Tan and T. New Years can get slightly overrated and trying to find the best party in town can also end up being frustrating.
My friends and I decided to do something chill and relax before the hectic hustle n bustle of life begins in the new year of 2009. I tried to get tanned but I think I’m half-Albino and I never get that tanned. Something about being on an island that puts you in a place of tranquility. I freak out and I worry about my future because I think no one else has to go through what I go through and taking myself out of the equation and looking at it from a distance time to time so always helpful.
Recently, I’ve been getting the short end of the stick with people in the industry and continuously bad-mouthing me, making sly comments to my face or even saying stuff about my friends who are not in the limelight. I’m not really that surprised when it surfaces because I know myself and my own work and in this world – there are always people out there who enjoy building you up just to see how fast you’ll fall.
I’m glad that my countdown consisted of meaningful hugs and kisses and watching lanterns flown up in the sky on the beaches of Langkawi, not fake kisses and girls that will look at you up and down because your accessories don’t match your dress. I have my friends who see me with and without my pound of makeup telling me how stoopid I look trying to make my own videos by myself. I wouldn’t exchange anything else in the world! Thank goodness for island getaways!
