(on set for Jasmine)
Yay! I finally get a chance to blog about my experience shooting Jasmine – written and directed by Dax Phelan.
Well I’ve been a host in Malaysia for over a year and I’ll admit its hard to see me as anything else. I saw an opportunity to cast for this movie and I was estatic when I got the part! It was so great to finally jump back into my acting bones and push my career right into film.
It was an honour to work with such a great group of people. I admit I was a bit nervous getting back into it but everyone was incredibly encouraging and then everything got easier. Playing off Jason Tobin was great because he’s an awesome actor and each scene felt so real and so natural. My first day of shooting was ironing out 5 pages of dialogue so that meant getting the lines down pat. Surprisingly we didn’t slip up and so we rarely screwed up on our long takes. Phew! My character in the movie does quite a fair bit of walking and the heels I wore, showed no mercy at the end of the shoots.
The early morning calls, freezing nights, blistering soles and alley loitering makes me miss it all. Now shooting has been finished, everyone’s returned back in LA and the movie is going into hands for editing and post-production. I can’t wait for it to come out and see what happens. 🙂
