I’ve been feeling like everyday keeps getting better. My better half encourages me to think positively and to channel good energy. So i’ve been feeling excellent (minus the mosquito bite attacks).
More recently, attention has been drawn on my weight and that I’m looking rather skinny. Its quite funny as different industries’ appropriate beauty in different ways. Hong Kong for instance, enjoys cute looking baby-doll girls who look like they order wanton noodle soup and only drink the soup. Whereas Malaysia seems to appreciate the curves in modesty.
But I did step on the scale when I first shot ask Ting Ting in February and in comparison to the health body check at Himalaya Herbals event last week. I’ve dropped an astounding 5kg! (Makes a difference when thats practically 10%) I didn’t really notice but then again, it’s quite funny to me for many reasons:
1. For the first time in my life, I’m not obsessing over weight and yet I’ve managed to lose some. (was that the trick?!?!)
2. People complain that I’m too skinny, but I now fit perfectly into sample sizes for editorials. (and have shot for many magazines in the past couple months)
3. I’ve been working out regularly for a few years so I can ingest large amounts nasi lemak, asam laksa, chicken rice and the very fattening durian.
As an extension of my Shape cover’s Do’s/Dont’s, I attribute most of my natural weight loss to the cooking I do every night. Especially in HK, I probably only eat 2-3 meals outside of my home and snacks are probably the custard buns I pick up to satiate my cravings. I reduce salt and cook with no oil (but if I must, then olive oil). I’m not really a nazi about cooking but i really enjoy it and the company as well! 😉 I like experimenting with new veggies and trying diff flavours. But most of all, i love cooking potatoes! (Potassium isn’t exactly the most useful mineral to have)
I hope when people see me, they’ll look past my skinny bones and up into my huge smile cuz I’ve been feeling pretty darn good lately! I’m heading back to HK for some t-l-c! That always helps too!
Please don’t worry my skin and bones won’t last for long, another couple more months in KL and I’ll succumb to the heavy currys that Malaysia has to offer – this foodie can resist everything except temptation!
