My turkey got a nice rosemary butter rub before a dip into the oven.
For the first time in my life, I celebrated Thanksgiving according to the American calendar (gasp). It felt like i was betraying Canadian Thanksgiving since we celebrate ours in October. Nonetheless, I grouped together my closest friends in KL and our +1s for a wonderful meal. B flew down to KL as the only American at our dinner so I pretty much made him our guest of honour.
We had wonderful food from candied sweet potatoes to grilled veggies, lasagna to truffle oil mac n cheese. Plus a few desserts that we could barely stuff after our 2nd and 3rd helpings! Yours truly cooked a 6kg turkey and made traditional stuffing with dried cranberries, celery, onion and bread. I was happy with the turkey joy and the Guinness marinade ensured that my turkey wouldn’t dry out.
It was well received and I hope we can have an annual Thanksgiving dinner again even though the holiday is of no importance to my Malaysian friends. Its really just another excuse to eat turkey! 🙂
