Unless you “follow me” on twitter or “like” me on Facebook, you probably won’t really know what I’ve been up to. July so far has been a very interesting month. I’m onto the next level of Improv at Second City and having such a blast. I was on the set of Total Recall to absorb the energy of an action-packed blockbuster. And more recently, I’ve been preparing myself for a massive audition.
B reminds me that life is about the journey and not so much the destination and slowly I’m coming around to that idea. (Although being a goal-oriented person, destination is just as important) I’m really glad I’m out here competing on a level-playing field and working with coaches who will help me dig deeper. I may or may not land big roles here but this process has been a huge awakening.
In addition to the improv classses, I’ll be performing a scene from Golden Child by David Henry Hwang with my scene partner in another stage class. I’m very excited to play with this scene because there is so much mischief and humour, in addition to competition. I’m really trying to explore humour, i think its one of the most challenging aspects for me so far.
I’m also about to embark on a new partnership with a company which will be representing me when I head back to Malaysia. I think it will be incredibly beneficial for both parties and I can’t wait to announce it soon. I’ve got great representation in North America and hopefully I can bridge that potential in Asia as well.
I’m still alive guys, just embracing each moment and practicing the art of enjoying the journey.
