This weekend, I had the honour of co-hosting the 2011 Miss Asia Toronto Pageant. Even though it was completely unplanned, it was great to be involved to get back into MCing again. I never thought I’d miss it but live shows are always great and this time it was in 3 languages, so there were 3 hosts: Edmond (cantonese), Yolynn (mandarin), and me (english). Opportunities like these are great because you have to be sharp in all the other languages and listen to know when to jump in and out.
Backstage fun with Yolynn, it was one of the first time MCing such an event and she did very well. She’s humble and she held her ground, so proud of her!!
Getting hair extraordinaire Tony Jorge to finish my look with an updo!
Just 2 out of 3 co-hosts for the afternoon show, with Edmond from OMNI2’s Trendy Zone, taking some time to take a quick snapshot before heading out.
Didn’t realize that I was towering over them, but here’s a group picture with one of the audience members during the show.
All the lovely ladies lined-up in Henkaa, including me! 🙂
The finale will be held on September 18th. Good luck to the 10 contestants, they’re such sweeties and I wish them all the best! The winner of this pageant will join the Miss Asia World in China/Hong Kong and the prize money is $3 million HKD, the tiara is $2.6 million HKD. INSANE!!!!!
A BIG HUGE FRIGGIN THANK YOU TO Henkaa for dressing me for the event. I’m wearing the beautiful Coral colour in their full-length convertible dresses. 🙂
