There, it’s official now! Not that I haven’t been cheering them on, but I can say I’m a fan. 🙂
EPL (English Football/Soccer) – Tottenham Spurs
NHL (Hockey) – Vancouver Canucks
NBA (Basketball) – New York Knicks
Initially I started rooting for the Spurs a couple years ago. Among my group of guy friends the Spurs fans weren’t as annoying and out of the ManU, Liverpool and Arsenal fanbase. Spurs fans were the underdogs and once I was a fan, they started doing extremely well. Not that I’m crediting myself but I’m glad I jumped on that wagon before they started getting really good. 🙂
As for the Canucks, well, what can I say? I’m a West Coast girl and not a fan of the Leafs AT ALL. I remember listening to their games and the radio edits of the years of Naslund and Bertuzzi but this new era has the Nucks playing on a different level, one that I believe will get us to the playoffs again. (Just don’t bring up the riots, clearly the drunks are sore losers and our RCMP can’t seem to direct rioters outside of the downtown core)
Well I’ve def caught the #linsanity bug cheering for the Knicks. Also partially cuz B’s from there (but technically NJ) hahaha, either way I’d say they seem like a great time and after reading a few articles at a time, and watching consecutive games. I’m officially a fan. I was really impressed by his first career-high game so I had to watch the second game and his leadership shows. I used to play basketball ages ago but I was never really a fan. The Grizzlies were the saddest franchise in the league and trying to keep up with the Raptors were never that worth it.
The Knicks will be coming over to Toronto to play against the Raptors tomorrow and I’ll be helping my friend’s organization CCYAA to make an attempt to score some interviews with Jeremy Lin (as they have before the hype when he came as a GS player).  However I’m sure priorities will be going to other media outlets, but going to see a basketball game is on my list so I’m glad I get to go nonetheless.
Perhaps my lil stint at ESPN allowed me to stay updated with sports (aside from their other entertaining lives) which has gained a fan out of me. I also forgot, Vettel for F1. He’s a bit of an asshole but I’m still a fan.
What are your fav sports teams?
