Teja and I arrived in Washington DC after President Obama proclaimed that he supported gay marriage. But it didn’t seem like it was big news over there but I’m glad he did it. On that note, here’s a little trip that I enjoyed very much, even if it was just a couple of days.
Visiting Georgetown University and checking out their campus. It looks so familiar that I’m sure its been used by so many films out there. We had a lovely afternoon walking along M street and getting lost hahahah.
We took a Segway tour called Segs in the City and rode along the street in the bike lanes. I tried my best to keep up but luckily I was the last so I wasn’t keeping anyone behind. The image above is the building that promotes (correct use of verb) Free Press.
Safety first! I’m in the middle of the street!
Here’s the stunning US Capitol!
T and I on our segways infront of the Washington Monument. Tallest in USA! (and world too?)
The White House. Didn’t see the Obamas but it was so cute and quaint!
After we finished our wonderful tour, we all got licenses. I highly recommend Segs in the City. We were in a small group of 6 and our tour guide Nate was incredibly knowledgeable, throwing trivia questions at us. I tried my best to answer but my American History knowledge is limited to the first three presidents and the last five.
Going up the steep escalator from Metro – Â Dupont Circle. I never realized the Metro was buried so deep.
T and I enjoying a day out in the circle fountain after celebrating with my birthday cupcake at Hello Cupcakes nearby.
Getting ready for dinner at St. Regis Hotel.
Bon Appetit! We selected a tasting menu with wine pairings and we got drunk quickly by the time it hit 10:30pm. Friends called to say hi but I was already fast asleep, sorry!!
I had a fantastic trip and although DC was never one of the cities on my list to visit, I still had an amazing time and I got to catch up with my bff. We haven’t seen each other since Malaysia but we always pick up where we left off.
Moms for life.
