Talk about a crazy week. I haven’t had a chance to announce on my blog (in case some of you don’t follow me on my Twitter or Facebook) but I have booked a role on the hit tv show XIII, starring Stuart Townsend and Aisha Tyler. It is a French+Canadian co-production which is on its second season.Â
XIII, a television series based of the popular Belgium action-conspiracy-thriller comic by Jean Van Hamme and William Vance. XIII is developed and produced by Prodigy Pictures and Cipango, the television division of Luc Besson’s Europacorp. Gil Grant (NCIS: Los Angeles, 24) wrote the pilot and will serve as the series’ showrunner.
Hollywood Dailies | Stuart Townsend | Movie Trailer | Review
I’ve got a recurring role in this series and I will play the Black Widow, the love interest of Stuart Townsend. This is by far the biggest role and I’m nervous and excited at the same time. I met Stuart the other day in make up and he gave me a hug and two kisses to welcome me aboard. The director and executive producer sat in at my callback and told me that I was their first pick which is very flattering to say the least. My good friend Hubert Tran is also in this show!
My agent is having a field day because my official union (ACTRA) status has virtually made him a busy man. After finishing up work with Cybergeddon last month, we’re already working on a couple more tv shows which hopefully I’ll be able to book in addition to hitting up LA casting houses based on my previous auditions – its really all quite surreal. My acting coach Nahanni was gushing about my role and she has been offering amazing advice since I started working with her so I’m thankful that she can help enable me in some way.
There have been so many no’s before  a yes and it makes every part of the journey worthwhile. I feel really blessed and I’m glad I stuck to my guns about putting my time in Toronto and leaving Asia when I did (I know people still think I was crazy). Anyway, I can’t wait to get on set and this episode is just so juicy I know the fans of the show are going to enjoy it. I watched the first season with my brother-in-law and we really got into it. They said the twists and turns of the second season will really get the audiences.
