Man oh man, I take Pasar Malam for granted.
When I’m in KL, I do frequent a few Pasar Malams here and there but it’s never a huge event. (Maybe if I’m craving Penang Asam Laksa) But I attended Night It Up for the first time since it’s inception (10 yrs ago?!) and got the tour with some friends from CCYAA. This hybrid night market was AH-MAZING! Activities, food, performances, mini-pageants. Who knew!
(great editing by Karl Man)
Night It Up had a whole slew of activities plus the smorgasbord of food ranging from Malaysian Murtabak to Mochi stations, Grilled and Skewered Seafood/Meat, not to mention the ominous scent of Stinky Tofu throughout the day and night.
Hanging out and catching up with Joh.
The dancers and event emcee Carly!
In conjunction with CCYAA who helped set up Sports Zone with some friendly competition in Basketball and 9-man Volleyball, plus they brought in activities for the kids from Toronto FC and Toronto Raptor’s mobile locker room. (Football and Basketball teams) I got to judge their Dunk Competition which was insane! I almost couldn’t watch at the end with all the tricks and stunts and props! The winner Sherman Su (last year’s Champ) won again and put up this video on YouTube:
Thanks again Clem for inviting me to check it out! Had a great time seeing some old friends and meeting new ones. Til next time!
