It looks like 2012 is starting off quite swell! Its not even the middle of the month yet and I’ve already done a handful of shoots, back-to-back from Vancouver to Toronto. So yippie from me! Work is good and the auditions are slowly rolling in again. Class has started and its time to bring it!
I met makeup artist Emily Cheng at my turkey dinner (see earlier post) and we talked about pulling a shoot together. In such short notice, she managed to find a location, photographer, stylist that worked like a dream team! We all got along so well, carried on a head of schedule and everything fell into place. Ahhh, so beautiful, so fun!
A little bit of this, a little bit of that. Models-cum-stylists Natalie Tusznio and Nicole Tusznio picked out a few of their favorites, vintage/prom finds, cute pieces and lingirie for this shoot. We were also able to snag some pieces from Rocaille Design that were the real finishing touches! These girls are an absolute delight to work with and if you don’t see them (both of them) strutting down the catwalks of NYC soon, it won’t be surprising that you’ll catch them behind the scenes working on a fab fashion shoot!. Good luck ladies!
Big kudos to Emily for setting it all together. Schedule conflicts and finding the right people for the job panned out perfectly. We lamented about Vancouver oddballs and finished of a scrumptious meal at Phnom Penh for some LucLac on Rice. We bumped into her adorable mom and she’s so cute I want to put her in my pocket! Can’t wait to see this girl blow up, I love people who love what they do!
Marissa from Rosewood Hotel Georgia was super accommodating and provided us with the Rosewood Suite. Probably one of the nicest suites i’ve ever been in. It has 2 floors with a rooftop terrace + hot tub jaccuzzi plus a 2 bedroom apartment with a luxurious dining/living room that made me felt like I was living in an episode of Mad Men. From the moment we walked through the doors of the lobby, everyone in the hotel was extremely nice and hospitable. (As most hotels should!) Good service goes a long way and I’m sure whoever can afford one of their rooms know its worth it!
We got lucky when photographer Zenaida Kwong agreed to shoot. Sitting at about 8.5 months pregnant she held up pretty good and had a few tricks up her sleeve too. We shot incredibly quickly and I think we easily found a few favs in the bunch!
After shooting with this team, made me realize that Vancouver has a lot of talented people. Everyone seems to be stepping up their game and the creatives emerging from this side of the country is really amazing. A lot of great online publications that are definitely worth buzzing about! I’m proud that I get to be part of it too! Can’t wait to see it when it’ll be published!
