Oh the Rebels we were… a reference to my old high school mascot, Burnaby South Rebels. I never had a chance to make it to my high school reunion. Although everyone said nothing had changed much – aside from the new last names and a few baby bumps, the ones that remained in good ol’ Burnaby just stayed the same.Â
Burnaby South has its most famous alumni being Michael J. Fox and the pride of our year Ms. Christine Sinclair Captain of the Canadian’s Women Soccer and Hall of Fame inductee. (I had Math with her!!) Another one rounding off our year will hopefully be my buddy Jae.
We met in English class when I switched schools and found out we lived a block from each other. We used to hang out and make videos for our English projects – our versions of Romeo and Juliet with other buddies casted as various characters. I guess that’s how it all began – and like he said, it now comes full circle.
Jae and the rest of the 3PM crew (fellow South grads) are churning out some pretty sweet videos and putting Vancouver back on the map with their creative ideas and one-of-a-kind aesthetic touches. I really wanted to work with them to create a narrative piece and we brainstormed a few ideas. Jae and I wanted the sweet romantic stories but unfortunately they were ruled out by dark, sinister themes. Hahahah maybe next time! Nonetheless, I think we managed to do some awesome stuff and it’ll be exciting to see the final product. Shoutout to the girls from EnvyMeStudio who made the night incredibly entertaining from start to finish! <3
We gots our gatz.

Trying to look half decent after we wrapped our shoot at 4am. Let’s hope it wont be another 10 years til we see each other again.
