(New Years’ on Chenang Beach in Pulau Langkawi)
My life is totally a work in progress. I’m starting to write blogs on this one now.. I need to wean myself off Xanga for the sake of holding up my dotcom site and all the silly attachments that come out of it. I usually like to clump in all of the stuff that I’ve been doing but I guess categorizing my thoughts would be a great way for people to keep track of the crap I do instead of my random rants of family and friends.
Today I had a really hard time waking up because I slept so late the night before. It was T’s last nite out and although I know I’m going to see her, just knowing that she’s not a phonecall away or a taxi ride away kind of makes me sad. I’ve really lucked out with friends when I move to new cities. It’s not exactly #1 on the list of things to have before you move, but its probably a close second. T and A (omg, why did I not think of this sooner) came into my life when I was thinking… hmmm I think i’m gonna need good friends and they can’t all be guys.
We held hands at Heritage Mansion and said, “we’re going to be best friends!”
Sure enough, we were, for the past year… crying, laughing, goofing around and travelling and living the good life. The kinds of memories we’ve shared, on beds and even showers have reminded me how great it is to have friends around. T grew up in the States and A in the UK. Its a nice blend to my Canadian-ness but we gel like PB+J or as we’d say in Malaysia, the Sambal to your Nasi Lemak. I’ve had so many highs and lows and I’m so thankful that I’ve had these girls to keep me in check!
Had a fab send off dinner at Ciccio (on Changkat Bukit Bintang) and stuck around Nero Vivo and later on carried at Werners. Of course our dinner always includes talking about men and a certain boy that I should meet since my dating life has been questionable. So after much convincing on both sides, they managed to lure the fella to come by and I ended up talking to him most of the night. Tis a pity he’s only staying for a couple days and I’ll probably never see him again but I cut the night short when everyone was moving over to Sultan Lounge for another birthday that I didn’t want to crash. Instead, I went home and did some skyping before I had to wake up early for a cover shoot the next day. Anyways, gonna be really sad that I won’t have my T anymore… I get ridiculously attached!! WAAAAAAAA—–
I’m busy trying to scan my feature on The Star Newspaper in their Motoring Section for the month. I also have pictures of my Langkawi trip and Hong Kong trip to post.. (but I’ll try to rock my postcard method style) – Hopefully all that can be done when I can! What a great way to start off the year, eh?
